Performance of National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences during the years 2021-2022

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Mohamed Zahran, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in the years 2021-2022. The report pointed to the most prominent achievements of NARSS in the field of scientific publishing, as the percentage of scientific publication increased by 12% in 2021, and the number of published research reached 84, and there was a noticeable increase in the number of funded projects carried out by NARSSin 2021, where the number of 26 projects funded by the budget of NARSS, local and international bodies. The report pointed to the local service projects implemented by NARSS, including: (a project for monitoring and mapping infringements on state lands, building the information infrastructure for land and water resources in Wadi al-Natrun, a project to complete the infrastructure work for the information network in the new building of the General Authority for Fisheries Development in the Fifth Settlement, geology studies for a project The Marble City at Atfih, the project to determine the areas of saturation with petroleum products, the potential sources of leakage in the geographical area of the petroleum companies in Alexandria). The report confirmed that the research outputs of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in 2021-2022 witnessed many achievements.
