Dr. Abdelaziz Belal, Head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, received Dr. Sherine Abd El Kader, President of the Electronics Research Institute, and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of Dr. Essam Mansour, Director of Femto Trade, the company that manufactured the Authority's cleanroom. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for integration between the two institutions' specialized capabilities, expertise, and research infrastructure.

The meeting addressed the development of joint prototypes and research and technological applications, as well as the utilization of the Authority's cleanroom for research, training, and technological activities. Discussions also covered the exchange of technical expertise and the development of joint training programs and materials, supporting the transition of research outcomes from the study stage to testing, development, and practical application.

Dr. Abdelaziz Belal emphasized the importance of moving cooperation among research institutions beyond traditional frameworks toward implementation-oriented partnerships based on the integration of capabilities, expertise, and specialized infrastructure. Such partnerships, he noted, would maximize the utilization of available scientific and technological resources and support the transformation of knowledge and research into practical applications and value-added products.

He highlighted that cooperation between the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and the Electronics Research Institute represents a model of interdisciplinary integration, bringing together the Authority's expertise in remote sensing and space applications with the Institute's expertise in electronics, communications, information technology, and smart systems. This integration opens new avenues for implementing applied projects and specialized training programs.

For her part, Dr. Sherine Abd El Kader underscored the importance of the partnership between the Electronics Research Institute and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, noting that integration between the two institutions represents an opportunity to strengthen the localization of advanced technology industries and transform scientific research outputs into marketable and investable applications and products.

She explained that cooperation between the two institutions has contributed to supporting a number of applied research projects, developing technological products, and registering intellectual property rights. She affirmed that leveraging the research capabilities available at both institutions could support more advanced projects in electronics, communications, smart systems, remote sensing, and space applications, in line with national priorities for digital transformation, technology localization, and reducing reliance on imported products and technologies.

The meeting included extensive technical discussions on the Authority's cleanroom, its capabilities and equipment, as well as its operational and utilization requirements. The two sides also explored ways to utilize the facility for joint research and training activities, providing researchers and engineers with access to a specialized practical environment for advanced technology applications.

The two sides also discussed the development of prototypes for research projects and ideas to support testing and development phases and advance them toward practical applications, thereby enhancing opportunities to transform scientific research outputs into applicable and investable technological products and solutions.

The meeting further addressed the development of joint training programs combining scientific content with practical application. These programs would enable researchers, engineers, and trainees to work directly with specialized equipment, facilities, and technologies. Discussions also explored the possibility of expanding these programs in the future to accommodate trainees from Arab and African countries, thereby strengthening the role of Egyptian research institutions in knowledge transfer and capacity building.

The delegation of the Electronics Research Institute included Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Salem, Dr. Nahla El-Azab Abdel Latif, Dr. Eman Mohamed Abdel Gawad, Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed Abo El-Ezz, and Engineer Nahla Sayed Abdel Azim.

The visit concluded with a field tour of the cleanroom at the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences. During the tour, the delegation of the Electronics Research Institute reviewed the available facilities, equipment, and technical capabilities, as well as the types of activities that can be carried out within the cleanroom.

The tour also included an overview of the technical aspects related to its operation and utilization, along with discussions on opportunities to employ the facility in joint training programs and research and technological projects.

This step comes within the broader direction of higher education and research institutions toward maximizing the utilization of specialized research infrastructure, integrating scientific and engineering expertise, and supporting the development of national capabilities capable of developing and localizing technology and transforming knowledge into applications and products that serve the needs of the state.
