Head of the
National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences discusses cooperation
mechanisms with head of Libyan Remote Sensing Center.
Dr. Islam Abu
Al-Magd, Chairman of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space
Sciences, received Dr. Akram Al-Kaseh, Chairman of the Remote Sensing Center in
the Libyan Republic.
Islam Abu Al-Magd
affirmed the interest of the Authority in cooperating with various research
agencies and institutions and bodies related to the areas of work of the
Authority in fraternal Arab and African countries, noting the Ministry's desire
to spread Egyptian leadership in the applications of remote sensing and space
technology to brothers in different countries, in order to benefit from the
Egyptian experience in this field.
The President
of the Authority noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between
research bodies and various regional and international bodies, exchanging
experiences, ideas and visions to achieve mutual benefit between the two sides,
and maximizing the use of research outputs.
The meeting
discussed joint cooperation frameworks and how to exchange experiences through
a visit of experts to train and build the capacity of Libyan cadres on remote
sensing technology, especially radar technology, artificial intelligence and
programming.
The meeting
discussed mechanisms for cooperation in research of common interest, as well as
the development of space subsystems.
The two
parties agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding that would enable both
parties to establish a general framework for cooperation and implement future
plans for both sides.
