Chairman of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences receives the Director of the Agricultural Innovation Project
at
the German Agency for International Cooperation
Discussing
mechanisms for strengthening cooperation with the German Agency for
International Cooperation.
Dr.
Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed
the importance of strengthening cooperation between research bodies and various
international bodies on topics of common concern; To exchange experiences and
ideas to achieve mutual benefit between the two sides, and to maximize the use
of research outputs and use them to bring about a social development boom in
various sectors.
In
this context, Dr. Islam Abu Al-Magd, President of the National Authority for
Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, held a scientific meeting with Dr. Stefan
Schmitt, Director of the Agricultural Innovation Project of the German Agency
for International Cooperation (GIZ), and Dr. Walid Ramadan, Senior Advisor of
the Agricultural Innovation Project of the German Agency for International
Cooperation, to discuss mechanisms for enhancing scientific and research
cooperation between the two sides.
The
meeting reviewed the efforts that the Authority could make and discussed the
possibility of benefiting from GIZ’s interest in supporting agricultural
projects and small farmers.
During
the meeting, the Chairman of the Authority and the Collaborating Group reviewed
the Authority’s scientific and human capabilities, extensive expertise and
advanced technologies, which enable the Authority to participate effectively in
supporting local and international bodies with studies that contribute to
achieving community development, supporting small farmers, supporting
international bodies and providing full support.
Dr.
Islam Abu Al-Magd affirmed the Authority's full readiness to cooperate with
those supporting bodies that could benefit from the scientific research outputs
of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences in the light of
the regulations and laws.
The
meeting took place within the framework of the interest of the National
Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Science in cooperating with various
domestic and international bodies supporting scientific research; To maximize
the utilization of the Agency's scientific research outputs and to support and
fund sustainable development plans in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz Bilal, Head of the Agricultural Applications, Soil and Marine Sciences Division, Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Ghar, Head of the Agricultural Applications Department at the Authority, and a group of researchers in the Agricultural Applications, Soil and Marine Sciences Division at the Authority.
