This was a joint project between NARSS and El-Fayoum Governorate

This study aimed to assess pollution levels of El-Fayoum Lakes, identify main sources of pollution and propose practical solutions to mitigate pollution. Geospatial techniques integration with contamination/risk indices and EPA threshold limits were used to assess the degree of pollution and its ecological impacts. Results of this study are in the form of water and sediment pollution maps, scientific reports and posters.

About NARSS

NARSS has been established in 1991 as a General Authority for Remote Sensing belongs to the Ministry of State for Scientific Research.

NARSS was then organizationally restructured in 1994; following the Presidential Decree No. 261 for 1992, as a National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences belongs to the Ministry of Scientific Research.
