This was a joint project between NARSS and National Telecom Regularity Authority.

This project aims to prepare a digital map of the urban communities at the level of the Republic in detail using medium-spatial resolution satellite images and Google Earth program to determine the urban blocks accurately.

It also aims to create a digital map of Agricultural areas and water bodies in the Republic of Egypt.

About NARSS

NARSS has been established in 1991 as a General Authority for Remote Sensing belongs to the Ministry of State for Scientific Research.

NARSS was then organizationally restructured in 1994; following the Presidential Decree No. 261 for 1992, as a National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences belongs to the Ministry of Scientific Research.
