Environmental Studies and Land Use

The Division of Environmental Studies and Land Use (ESLU) is one of the eight divisions that formulate the scientific and technical body of NARSS. It includes two Departments, namely; Department of Environment Studies (ES) and Department of Land Use (LU).

ESLU Strategy

The Strategic Goals of Environmental Studies and Land Use (ESLU) is to develop the National Capabilities in the Field of applications of remote sensing and Related Technologies for Sustainable development.

The main Objectives of this Division can be summarized in

  • Creation of a critical mass of scientists and specialists capable of the application of the state of the art technologies , and development of advanced technologies suitable for national and regional conditions through the performance of a well planed and property funded R&D Projects
  • Maximizing the utilization of available resources for the sound performance of applied projects and production of high Quality technical Reports and scientific articles through the use appropriate project management tools and business development activities with all relevant national development sectors
