The 14th Annual Conference of earth 2nd International Conference on Environmental Change in Lakes, Lagoons & Wetlands of the Mediterranean Region

A driving force behind this conference is international cooperation and the broadening of water regulations developed in the European Union that may be of value to water management aims in the Mediterranean region. Both the EU Water Framework Directive and the International Cooperation (INCO) Programme are concerned with raising water quality and achieving good ecological status for water resources everywhere. Whilst recognising the wise management principles enshrined in these initiatives, it is important to take account of national and local objectives relevant to individual third country partners as well as exercise subsidiary.
ISNET / NARSS Seminar on Bridging the Gap through Satellite Technology

Space Technology & Geo-information for Sustainable Development

The joint U.S.–Egypt workshop “Space Technology and Geo-information for Sustainable Development” is designed to promote the use of geospatial tools and information by decision-makers in the developing world to improve the quality of decisions through integration of information and coordination of activities. This effort also aims to enhance the use of small satellites for remote sensing in the development and improvement of human conditions in developing countries. The four day workshop, to be held in Cairo, Egypt in June 2010, is funded by the U.S.-Egypt Fund for Science and Technology Cooperation. The sponsors of the workshop are a public-private partnership that currently includes: U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Association of American Geographers (AAG), Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), Trimble Navigation, and the Egyptian National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS).
3rd Egyptian – Japanese Joint Symposium Remote Sensing Applications in Archaeology

The main objective of the symposium was to bring together experts working on cultural heritage conservation to be together with the main space experts of the country. This interesting combination of experts was to attend initially a two-day symposium on the field of application of Remote Sensing on Archaeology.
